Counselor-in-Training Camp (CIT) 2020
Safety is our number one priority at Westview on the James. Due to COVID-19, Westview feels that it will not be safe to have Resident Camp in 2020. In its place we are introducing an exciting new program, Westview Wired: A Virtual Camp Experience! Click here to find out more about Westview Wired. For all campers who have registered for Resident Camp, please fill out this form.
Do you have an interest in working at Westview but aren't really sure what it's all about? Or maybe you aren't old enough to work yet, but don't want to miss out on another awesome week of camp? This program is for you!
CIT Week is filled with all your favorite activities at camp plus you get the opportunity to take on additional responsibilities and learn what being a Camp Counselor is all about. Each day, CITs will spend half their day learning about counselor responsibilities and serving fellow campers in various ways. For the rest of the day, you will participate in activities and spend time with fellow campers.
There is some hard work involved with being a CIT, you will work on projects such as trail clearing and helping plan and set-up for nighttime activities, even helping Counselors clean-up after some of the meals. However, we always have fun in everything we do!
All CITs will go through First Aid/CPR/AED training and receive a certificate of completion for the program. If you are interested in applying for a Camp Counselor position in future years, this program can benefit you tremendously by helping you to better understand the responsibilities that go into being a Counselor as well as giving Westview a chance to get to know you better before you apply.
