Maybe the cohesiveness that was once there has been depleted. Maybe you are just wondering where God has been lately. Maybe everyone has gotten so busy they’ve stopped celebrating the Sabbath and are just going through routines. Maybe your ministry needs an extension into the outdoors. There are numerous reasons why a retreat is necessary: feeling down, needing to reenergize, getting bogged down in the day-to-day, losing touch with your faith.
At Westview on the James, you and your group have the opportunity to physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually retreat. This “place apart” - nestled into Goochland, VA near the James River - offers many resources to make your retreat a success. Westview retreats come in several different forms:
- Personal Retreats: Individually enjoy Westview’s facilities and amenities while designing your own retreat in order to relax, renew and rejuvenate.
- Directed Retreats: Work with our Assistant Director, Cat Holbert Rudys, to program and design your groups retreat. She can assist you step-by-step or can be a “hands-off” guide.
- Hosted/Small Group Retreats: Design your own retreat! We can provide the lodges, food and recreational/group activities.
- Westview’s Programmed Retreats: Meet others from Virginia at these year-round camp programs. Bring your 3rd-6th graders to the Kid’s Work Camp in the fall; entire families are welcomed for the Family Fun Camp in October; your children and youth are invited to attend Winter Camp in December, and United Methodist Confirmands are encouraged to attend Westview’s Confirmation Retreat in the spring.
