You can choose to
navigate a canoe, climb a rock face,
soar in a hang glider, mountain board,
sail
or become an eco-hiker. Westview Adventures also offers the thrill of
white-water rafting and
western-style horseback
riding.
These opportunities are designed for youth
13-17 years of age, who want something a little different than
our traditional summer camp experience.
The goals of these
programs are:
-
to
provide the camper with opportunities to experience new
activities or to build on previous accomplishments,
-
to appreciate our
natural resources and to learn proper outdoor living skills,
- to explore, through discussion and study, a Christian
lifestyle and to celebrate our individual uniqueness while
working together as a group.
Whether you sign up
for a five or twelve day Adventure, safety is of the utmost
importance to Westview. Camp staff are trained in
wilderness first-aid and C.P.R. Each camp that goes off of
the Westview property is equipped with a cellular phone and
wilderness first-aid kit. Camps, such as the white-water
rafting, grass skiing and hang gliding, utilize professional
outfitters.
These camps will be
small in size with a maximum of twelve campers with a counselor
to camper ratio of 1 to 6. Campers will camp in tents on
and off property and prepare much of their own food while on
trips.
If you want adventure, like to camp and are willing
to work as a part of a team, Westview Adventures is for you.
